minky couture blanketI’ve always been a blanket lover, and I think it’s safe to say that I always will be. They are so soft and comforting – I don’t see how everyone isn’t a blanket lover. I’ve been a fan of fleece for years, and I thought it was the best blanket fabric out there until I found out about minky. Minky is incredibly soft – twice as soft as brand new fleece. Plus, minky blankets don’t wear down over time/use, it maintains its softness making it a great investment. Minky Couture is a company that specializes in minky blankets of all sizes. You can get minky blankest that are ‘mini’ sized (commonly called loveys), all the way up to monster minky size. Monster minky’s measure 60″ by 72″! I definitely have to get one of those someday. I was sent the toddler/tween/travel size which measures 36″ by 50″. At just 5″ tall, I’m not much bigger than your typical tween, and I don’t think this size is tween size, as even with the long side wrapping around me, it doesn’t meet ends. However, it would be great for toddlers and is also similar to a lap blanket size which makes it great for sitting on the couch or computer and keeping your legs/lap warm. This size is great for traveling in the car, too. I’m always colder than Ryan, so the a/c always has me cold in the winter. We are headed to Ohio next week and I’ll definitely be bringing this with me for our short road trip. The edges are lined in Satin which is incredibly soft and goes great with the rest of the minky material. As you can tell from my blog layout, I love black and white with bits of red mixed in. The color combination is just really satisfying to me. So when I saw their Brooke minky blanket I knew that was the one I wanted, I loved it! However, if you don’t see a blanket that you adore, you can create your own blanket at minky couture too. You get to pick the fabric for each side as well as the trim color. I am in love with my minky couture blanket and will definitely be saving up money for a monster minky in the future. Henry loves it too!
