Most of us have had the ‘bad picture day’ experience. Maybe it was a wedding or a birthday party, you knew you would be having pictures taken that day. You thought the dress or top looked fine in the mirror but once the pictures get developed you realize how it highlighted your belly or muffin top. That’s the worst! I have tried a few different brands of shapewear to use on big days such as those, and to be honest, I haven’t had much luck. Most of the things I’ve tried in the past do have a tightness to the material, but they tend to squeeze me until creases form. So my chest would be squeezed and then a big line under my chest, and then my belly is squeezed and breaks at my hips. Then these unnatural looking bumps show just as bad (or even worse!) than my belly or muffin top would have without the shapewear. When I heard that Vedette Shapewear uses a combination of nylon, cotton and natural hevea latex to create pieces that are firm where you need them to be, instead of all over like most other brands. When I got accepted for the review I checked out the size chart and found my height and weight which told me which size I needed. I chose the Evonne piece to try out. I liked it because the material ends underneath the chest, so for small chested people like myself we don’t have to have our chest compressed down smaller than it already is. Hehe. The Evonne is intended to slim the mid section. When it arrived I went in and tried it on, and as soon as I started pulling it on I knew it was different than other shapewear that I had tried in the past. It wasn’t REAL hard to get on, but it definitely took more tugging than other pieces I’ve tried. This thing had a lot of compression to it! Once I got it on I instantly FELT slimmer, simply because I could feel the tightness of the material. Yet, it wasn’t too tight feeling, it was just kind of like a big strong hug. I put my shirt back on and could definitely see an obvious improvement. I wore this under an outfit to school one day just to test out the comfort level. Although it’s not at a t-shirt level of comfort, it’s definitely comfortable enough to stand wearing all day, especially for special events like a wedding. The garment crosses under the legs to keep it from pulling up during the day, but if you need to use the restroom it has a bra-like closure that can be undone from the bottom to avoid getting fully undressed. The straps are adjustable like a traditional bra strap so it’s easy to customize to your height. I’m very happy with the piece I received from Vedette and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for shape wear that really works!
