I’m one of those people who are always cold. Living in Michigan where we often have snow from mid November through mid or even late March, is really unfortunate for people like me. I’ve tried using the ‘wearable blankets’ but found that the sleeves are so large and loose that my arms and hands stay cold, and the back is open so unless you sit really still your back gets cold. Plus, the blanket is so long that I have to carry it with both hands or take it off to walk around. Far from ideal. A much better solution for me is a lazy patch suit. A lazypatch suit is basically a quilt suit. It feels really similar to a standard comforter in texture and feeling, and does a great job of keeping me warm. Lazy patch has a unique sizing system, which made me worry that I might order the wrong size. However, I just took my measurements and used the chart. I was between sizes so I Ordered the larger size, and it fits well but I probably could have fit in the smaller size. So although the size chart is unique, it is accurate and shouldn’t scare you off from ordering. The suit includes pants with a drawstring waist and a jacket with a double zipper, so you can control airflow if you get too warm or too cold. The jacket also has a detachable hood. My favorite thing about the duvet suit is it just feels like a regular comforter, yet it’s flexible in the sense that it doesn’t feel stiff or bunch up in the knees or elbows. It’s super comfortable and does a great job of keeping me warm. The only feature I would change about the lazy patch, is the holes near the drawstring on the pants are just slits in the fabric, instead of having a metal disc around them. So I have had the fabric rip around the holes when trying to tighten the string. I wish they would add a metal disc to solve this problem. Of course, this isn’t a big deal at all and the pants still work great. Although the clothing isn’t a snowpants-like material or designed for snow use, they fit well over my jeans so I have worn them when I knew I would be outside for long periods of time, but would not be directly touching the snow and they worked great for helping me stay warmer. I also have enjoyed wearing the suit to bed at night instead of using several blankets. Our bedroom window doesn’t seal well, and the wind comes through a lot. Because of the window our bedroom stays noticeably cooler than the rest of our apartment. We end up using several blankets at a time, but I move around a lot in my sleep and often wake up tangled in the blankets, or I Just wake up from being uncomfortable and have to move the blankets around to find a comfortable spot again. A few times I’ve worn the lazy patch suit instead of using blankets and it works great! I actually felt like I slept better than usual. I think this was because I didn’t have to wake up to fix my blankets, and I kept a steady temperature because no matter how much I tossed and turned, the lazy patch suit stayed covering me perfectly, whereas a blanket would move around as I moved and eventually I’d end up partially uncovered and cold. Overall I’m really happy with my lazy patch suit.
