Have you heard of the Rabbids before? I first fell in love with the Raving Rabbids Travel in Time wii game for review. This game is much different than rabbids go home, because there areย no shopping carts or collecting items to stack to the moon. However, it is the same in the sense that it’s a bit of a quirky, weird, silly game that is a lot of fun. This Ubisoft game is full of smaller games that you can play alone or with friends. Many of the games are easy enough for younger children to play, but it’s rated E10 due to mature material. There is mild cartoon violence and topics such as collecting beans and then passing gas, etc. To be honest, most people I know would be comfortable with their younger children playing this game, as there’s nothing real bad it’s just kind of immature humor, more or less. But, that’s just my opinion.

One thing that sometimes frustrates me about wii games, is they don’t use the abilities that the wii has. For example, games that require you to turn the wiimote sideways, and use the controller in the same way that you played on a SNES controller. That doesn’t take advantage of the wii’s features, and I just love all the new things that games can do with the wii. So I was thrilled to find out that rabbids travel in time took full advantage. You get to dance, fly, shoot and more with your wiimote. My favorite is the games that allow you to fly, these are a lot of fun just because of the ability to use the wiimote and nunchuk as wings. It was a lot of fun pretending to fly with my own wings. I also really enjoyed the dancing games, and I love how they encourage activity instead of just sitting on the couch.

I played this game both alone and in two player mode with Ryan. When you play alone it’s fun because it keeps track of your score so you know whether or not you beat your old scores or not. When you play against someone else, it’s fun because of the competition. Some of the games allow you to be on the same team with your friend, while the two of you compete with two computer rabbids. Othertimes you are each paired up with another rabbid, and compete against each other. Most of the games are simply ‘see how quickly you can do it’ or ‘see how many points you can score’ which is nice for kids because they can enjoy playing at whatever their ability level is.

Overall I really enjoyed this game, and think that anybody who enjoyed the previous rabbid games should check this one out!
