Today’s gift is a great gift to stick away for a rainy (or freezing cold) day. When I’m babysitting and we are stuck inside, I always try to think of things we can do to keep the kids busy. We usually turn to some sort of craft or art project. Sometimes it’s really hard to come up with project ideas on the spot, and it’s hard to find projects that interest a wide range of ages. If you’re looking for craft kits to stick away for such days, look no further than faber castels creativity for kids kits. While browsing their selection, I had my 12 year old neice in mind. She really enjoys crafts and often asks me to come up with things she can make. When I was in middle school I remember enjoying arts and crafts a lot, I think in part becuase I was too old to be interested in most toys, but arts and crafts are still a fun, age appropriate thing to do. For girly tweens and young teens, there are all sorts of kits like make your own lip gloss, purse, jewelry and more. My niece isn’t into all that (yet anyway) so I looked into the other kits. I wound up deciding on a make your own sock puppet kit. It’s labeled as a ‘creativity for little kids’ kit, and it’s definitely a kit that can be used by preschool age kids on up, but it’s fun enough to entertain older kids as well. The kit includes three socks, which was perfect seems how my niece has two little brothers. In addition to the socks, the kit includes eyes, polka dots, puffy pom poms, sticky felt bits and more. This kit was enjoyed by all three kids (ages 4, 6 and 12). The socks turned out much cuter than they would have if we had tried to use our own, and I loved how we had so many options for decorating the socks, as it’s hard to find items that will stick to a sock if you’re just working on your own.
