I didn’t use to work out at all but about 2 months ago I started a routine. At first I would wear pajamas, but quickly found out that they are inconvenient for workouts. Shirts with sleeves are hot, while strappy pj shirts or camisoles have straps that fall. Wearing traditional bras and doing workouts on the floor is really painful when the clasp digs into your back. You get the idea 🙂

I started researching eco-friendly companies that make athletic wear and came across Alo. Alo stands for Air, Land Ocean and their company has many ‘green’ practices in place. Some of them include having a solar powered headquarters, they use fabrics like bamboo, organic cotton, recycled polyester and modal. The alo company car is a hybrid, the office supplies are eco friendly, their facilities use eco friendly cleaners, and the list goes on. Very cool, but how do the clothes test out?

I was sent a sleeveless tank and capris to review. The only downside I have found so far is I ordered a size larger than I should have. You may notice that this is a trend in my reviews, and it’s totally my fault. When I shop in person and am able to try things on, at least 75% of the time I buy one size, and the other %25 of the time I buy a size larger. However, I’m always afraid of ordering online and getting something too small, so I order the larger size, however, not surprisingly that often results in the clothes being too big.

Dispite them being a bit too big, I love them! They are form fitting which is great for allowing them to stay put, without feeling clingy or making me feel uncomfortable. They are tight in the way that I feel ‘sucked in’ without feeling like they show off my muffin top and such. Which is great! The top has an additional layer in the bra section which is great because it allows me to not wear a bra with this which makes floor exercises so much more comfortable. Love it!

The capris are great also, though you should probably opt for some of alo’s shorts or pants if you are 5’0″, because like any other pair of capris they are too long. I am able to make them work though by pulling them up higher around my waist and then folding them down.

When wearing this outfit verses pjs (even a white beater and boxer shorts that are lightweight) I notice a huge difference in how sweaty I feel. Both pieces have sections that allow for ventilation and are just a lot more breathable than traditional cotton clothes. They do a great job of keeping the sweat off of me which helps me feel cooler and feel better after a workout.

Overall I love my alo outfit and would recommend them to anyone looking for fitness clothes!
