Have you heard of the Hip-t? The hip t is a band of material that is designed to look like an undershirt or camisole, but instead of being a full undershirt, it’s only the bottom portion. Why would you want half a shirt? For lots of reasons, including lengthening a shirt thats a bit short, creating a ‘layered’ look without a bunch of straps, covering a muffin top and although their wbebsite doesn’t tell you this – it helps keep you warmer too!

I don’t wear a ton of fitted shirts, so I don’t regularly have a problem with my lower back or butt crack showing – however, for those who do enjoy wearing fitted shirts that sometimes ride up, or perhaps for people who just have long torsos, the Hip-t is a great way to lengthen a shirt.

I’m sure that this sounds crazy to you seems how it’s mid-june, but my main interest in the Hip-t was for keeping warmer. I’m one of “those people” who are ALWAYS cold. Even in June a lot of the time. In the winter I usually wear a wife beater or camisole under my shirt every single day! However, I’m small chested and wearing an undershirt or wife beater plus a t shirt or top, tends to make me look well…boobless. However, in the winter I get so cold that I do it anyway because I just can’t stand being cold. This hip-t is such a great solution for me because it doesn’t come up to my chest so it doesn’t flatten my chest, but it helps keep me warm. I really love my hip-t and hope to get more in the near future.

The only downside I’ve been able to come up with, is the Hip-t I received doesn’t seem to stay in place all that well. I tend to tug on it quite a bit, because it either gathers above my t shirt or else below my shirt on my hips. I think I ordered the wrong size, and I think that’s what causes the hip t to not stay in place on me. I glanced at the size chart before requesting a size, and the chart shows both measurements in inches as well as the corresponding clothing number size, and then the clothing size in small, medium, large, etc. I ordered based on my jean size, but was recently fitted for a dress, and after viewing the chart I realized I should have went with my dress size or else I should have actually measured my waist, because I ordered too big. So I’d suggest actually getting a measuring tape out before ordering. Other than that I really love my hip-t and think it’s great!

I also received a hoola scarf, which is also sold at hip-t. The hoola scarf is a scarf that has attached ends, so when held out it’s a big ring. I’ll be honest, I’m a bit too much of a simple girl to be into scarves. However, I can see how this would be a great product for anyone who is. It looks great just looped once, twice or three times, making it very versatile. They come in a large variety of patterns too.
